What to Expect
If you’ve ever gone to a social event where you didn’t know anyone, you know how uncomfortable that can make you feel. Our goal is to eliminate every shred of apprehension and make you feel at home.
Since chiropractic care involves a series of visits, with each one building on the ones before, it’s important that our relationship can go the distance. We’ve found that one of the best ways to have successful patient relationships is to explain everything in advance. No surprises!
The more you understand who we are, what we do and why we do it, the better results you’ll enjoy. It’s as simple as that.
So, check us out here. Poke around. Get to know us. Then, contact us to make an appointment so we can get to know you.
Your First Visit
You will be greeted by Kathy our front office manager. She will walk you through the new patient intake forms. Then you will watch a brief video on chiropractic (8 minutes). Then Dr. Runnerstrum will come in and go over your case history. Next you will go into the exam room (wear, or bring comfortable clothes). The exam will consist of taking your blood pressure in three positions, orthopedic and neurologic tests, range of motion tests, muscle tests and nutritional deficiency tests. After the exam, Dr. Runnerstrum will discuss whether or not there is a need for additional tests; x-rays, MRI, or lab tests. If needed she will refer you to the appropriate facility and Kathy will help you schedule that appointment.
Your Second Visit
Your second visit, we call the "Report of Findings" visit. Dr. Runnerstrum will review your exam findings and give treatment recommendations and answer any questions you may have. This visit is included in the price of your initial consultation and exam fee.
Typical Visit
When you come in for an office visit you will check in at the front desk and Kathy will direct you to a private treatment room. (All our rooms are private.) Dr. Runnerstrum will palpate your spine and check reflex points on each visit and then apply the appropriate adjustments. We recommend that you allow 15-20 minutes of time in your schedule for checking in, treatment and checking out.
